Virgin of Vilar (Mare de Déu del Vilar) is venerated in Blanes and is the Patroness of the sailors and peasants of Blanes. Its dedication comes from the name of the hamlet where the image was found, Mas Vilar.
The sanctuary of the Mare de Déu del Vilar is located in a mountainous area to the north of the municipal area. It was built in 1609 and restored according to the canons of the 16th century. XVIII. It is an important center of worship. On the Tuesday after Easter, the pilgrimage is celebrated, with Mass in the Romanesque church of the aforementioned Virgin, sardanas and a brotherhood lunch that focus the events in this town.
